Writer. Filmmaker. Artist
Fortune Ogulere was born in Imo, Nigeria, in 2001. He grew up in Owerri where his father was a businessman, and his mother introduced him to African writers such as Chinua Achebe, Ben Okri, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie---authors who continue to shape his literary vision.
He holds a degree in Applied Microbiology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and later moved to the United States at twenty-one to pursue a different academic path. He graduated from Union Adventist University with a degree in English and Public Speaking and is currently completing an MFA in Creative Writing at St. Joseph's University in New York. In addition to writing, he is a filmmaker, visual artist, and singer. His work across disciplines explores identity, migration, culture, and the African diaspora through a contemporary lens.

I'm a firm believer that Africans and Black people over the world should tell our diluted stories. Hence why i created the company, Inkbender. Inkbender is a multi-disciplinary creative company that tells these stories through publishing, Film, Art, and Fashion.

Music is one of the many ways i express myself. My genres are Afrobeats, RnB, and Alternative music.
