

Fortune Ogulere
The Inkbender
Fortune Ogulere was born in Imo, Nigeria in 2001. As a boy, writing was the only way he could see a reflection of himself. He grew up in Owerri with a business inclined father and a mother who introduced him to the African Writers that became his influence. Writers like Chinua Achebe, Ben Okri, Wole Soyinka, Chris Okigbo amongst others.
He graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University with a degree in Microbiology and then left for the US to continue his education in English at Union Adventist University.
He published his first novella "Charly Parker and the Wizard's Tree" at age 13 and went on to intern for several creative houses. In 2019 he was awarded the certificate of excellence in Screenwriting from Anambra Broadcasting Service. He has been published in some magazines and has a novel in progress.
My Story
Fortune Ogulere is a Nigerian writer based in Lincoln, Nebraska. He published his first children’s novella at the age of 13 and has since completed internships with creative industry leaders. He also holds a screenwriting certificate from ABS Film Academy and has been published in various magazines. When he’s not working on his novels, he enjoys singing, painting, and eating ice cream. Fortune is actively pursuing a second degree in Creative Writing and Public Speaking.
